Probably went out, smoked a couple joints, had a couple drinks, and came back to finish playing.
Probably half a dozen groupies.

They rested off to the side of the stage. I saw them do Moby Dick and they just went off stage. They came back looking rested.
Took more drugs?
Had a room under the stage with drugs, booze and groupies.
took a break they usaaly did it in the middle of the show -- saw them at Pontiac stadium near Detroit
i went to see this weird ambient gig in london. lots of bass soudscapes. i went to the washroom halfway through one of the djs sets. i was line up at the urinal and there were seom guys chatting next to me. one of them was like "i didn't know you were playing tonight!" it turned out one of them was a DJ booked for that evening. eventually the non-dj said "so when are you playing" and the DJ said "i'm actually playing right now" he'd just left a nice long record on....
i think it was mixmaster morris.
anyway, my point is... maybe they went for a pee?
Probably went drinking and smoking, what else is there for such rock gods to do in this world? lol
