Almost none of those bands are pop-punk you listed lol, but if you really like Pop-Punk I can't think of a better band to get into than New Found Glory.
They're fantastic, catchy, songs are always simple, and they have done two CDs consisting of covers of famous songs from films, they're excellent.

I've heard the term pop-punk for ages don't know where those guys heads were at.. stuff around that type.. Goldfinger, Less Than Jake.. they're Ska punk but it's not a world apart. If you want to follow back to their influences you might enjoy the Ramones at some point.. also I recommend Finetune.com, you can type in an artist and listen to a bunch of related things, you have to sign up to get full use but it's free and easy.

Will The Police ever do a 50th reunion tour in 2027 or so?
Or will the band members be too old to tour by then?
I wouldn't assume they're THAT old though, they all seem to be doing what they enjoy.
I would love to see them tour, I was too young to go see them back in 2007 so I'm hoping their would be a 50Th reunion tour.

Me and my friends know this really funny song called 'I wanna f*ck u in the ***' by a band called the Outhere Brothers which we got from that Learn English commercial. We reckon it might be a right good laugh if we play it in public loud. The lyrics are really obscene, but they are lolworthy.

I dont know whay old timers like Sapandau Ballet - who were big in the 70s/80s dont just leave the past as the past.
Music is about the time as well as the sound. It is not possible to bring back the 1980s so why do these old guys keep going? What are they trying to do? I reckon they can spoil their memory by trying to make a comeback.

Yeah I heard about them, must have been on either Red FM or Newstalk 106 as they are the only 2 radio stations I listen to, must have been Red FM I was coming back from Cork on Monday with my daughter and she doesn't let me listen to Newtalk lol.

aha..... its my birthday and ive got a room booked for 6 people at the alton towers hotel, but ive got 8 of my friends coming with me during the day
i was wondering, if people who've been there know whether it would be possible to sneak people into your room?
like when you go in, do they count the exact amount of people?

I've always had this problem.
The staff at the hotel don't count the amount of people going into your

It should be pretty easy to get your 2 extra friends in.

Pain under my boobs at 31 weeks pregnant?
I'm sure it's pretty normal, just all part of having a big bubby in your tummy but I thought I'd just check with others who have been pregnant or are pregnant.

It depends on the location, but any pain in the upper right quadrant should be reported to your midwife or OB immediately. It's usually nothing to worry about, but if it is then it can have devastating consequences if not treated.
Just call your midwife/L%26amp;D/OB and let them know, they will tell you whether or not you need to go in for an assessment.

Its a pain in the bum trying to figure out which pains and twinges are normal and which ones could mean somethings wrong! Lol!

Yep totally normal!! And it hurts like hell! I wake up every night in agony! I heard it's just the babby kicking at your ribs. If you put something warm on your back it ususally encourages the little rascal to move own and bit and away from your ribs! Congrats and good luck!

Which instrument should I start taking up?
I am 14 and play piano and am looking for a brass/woodwind instrument to start learning because I want to join the band. I realise it's going to take some time but it's all going to be worth it so it's all good.
Which do you reckon is the easiest instrument to learn? (Not to a high/pro level but just say AMEB grade 4 or 5 level?) What should I take?
Before, I have considered percussion but do you think it'd be boring?

Saxophone or Trumpet. If you play the Trumpet, you'll get all the good bits in the band. If you play the saxophone, you'll get more boring bits in the band, but the saxophone is a fantastic instrument (I play piano and saxophone, myself).
As for percussion, it's not boring. There's often less notes to play, but it'll improve your timing and your ability to listen to everyone else in the band. Percussion isn't just the big bass drum, remember. It's all sorts of instruments like the Timpani, Drum Kit, Xylophone, etc. The piano itself can be classed as a percussion instrument, since it uses the hammers to strike the strings.
Basically, if you are looking for Brass/Woodwind, then pick the Saxophone or the Trumpet. But don't rule percussion out. I myself would love to play the Timpani. They're very cool.Which instrument should I start taking up?

Any thoughts on DESTRUCTION'S new 2011 album "Day of Reckoning"?
(for those unfamiliar with the band, they were part of the "Unholy Trinity" of Teutonic thrash, with the much better known and discussed Kreator and Sodom. Yet at least around here they seem to have gone the way of Anthrax, as no one seems to talk about them)
Was released in Europe back on February 18th... as usual, here in the USA, we get to wait an extra month.. *rolls eyes*
They promised a return to a more Brutal, raw and Turbulent style compared to DEVOLUTION (thankfully they seem to be serious from the tracks I have heard) and as a plus note for me, my favorite modern Thrash guitarist OL DRAKE of EVILE plays several harmony parts and contributes many of the solos on the album.

Depends. It's not right to call them the best band that ever was....but they actually have some catchy tunes. My little sister has both of their albums and I've actually been known to hum along to songs like "Didn't I" and "An Apple A Day". he can't play to a click track honestly...im a guitarist and i reckon im probably better than him...the only problem is that we went to primary school together and we have been together as a band for nearly 5 years. My lead guitarist, bassist and myself have progressed so far...but the drummer really isn't up to standard... WHAT DO I DO!!!

Anyway, I'm an eleven year-old girl and basically I really want to be in a band. I've been in two in the past, one which was a total disaster because I couldn't play the guitar then. The second, the one I'm currently in is fun, but the other three members are useless. I am pretty good at the guitar (I can play all of Smells Like Teen Spirit, including the solo), and I can sing in many different styles. I can sing soft rock, hard rock and I can even shout-sing sort of too.
But I want new members. I don't reckon my parents would let me put up posters, and I go to an all-girls school, and the ALL the girls in our school are the R%26amp;B rap type, or the pop sort of people, and I've had my experience with bitchy girls. So I'm mainly looking for boys.
All I want is a drummer, bassist and maybe another guitarist. I only know three people that can play the drums. One boy who I was in my first band with, and he messed around with the other boys, but I just think it was because he didn't want to look like a girl. So he's my best bet at the moment. The other is a ****ing jack*** and the other smokes and is a stupid Scene Kid... that listens to Flo Rida.

Because it will be hard to move the drum-kit, we will need a drummer who is willing to have rehearsals at his house. We also will need a good bassist and guitarist. I can't think of anyone for drummer or bass, though I have a boy in mind for guitar.
He is a year younger than me and plays in the brass band with me. He is on Grade two guitar, and as I'm one Grade one and can nearly play the intro and chorus, I reckon he will be able to. We both play tuba and I get along with him, and I could get his number, but I just don't know whether to ask him. We're not "friends" as such, but not enemies.

Most of the people in the band are like, retired but there is one guy that is the same age as me (16). Ok so i havent really taken much notice in this guy b4...i always thought he was a bit of a snob lol.

Having doubts about our band?
So, I've been in a band for like, just about a year. We are all 16, same school, etc. With my lead guitarist we did form a band a while ago but it failed and then just reformed with different members. Just, the thing is, even though it's my dream to be on stage, etc. and all the sob story stuff, I'm just having doubts. I'm the lead singer of the band, and our lead guitarist, Sam* is really enthusiastic. He seems to think that, like Avenged Sevenfold (his fav band) because we're like them when they started, with nothing basically, that we're just gonna make it big. Seriously, we (are planning to) write our own songs. I've written one, on my own, which he tried adding guitar to but we seemed to have experienced 'writer's block' at that particular band practice. And we got our first gig a while ago, and then it got cancelled cause of travel or something, and I told him and he was just like 'ok cool.' Seriously I've always wanted to be on stage, NEVER have, and it barely bothers him. I mean, I love him, he's like my brother, love the rest of the band too, but I can't help doubting myself, and , admitedly, us. It seems so disloyal to write this, though. Any help at ALL? Anyone been in my position? I'll leave my YouTube link just in case, for critiscism, etc. The song 'Fading Photos' on there is the one I wrote, and other videos are just me singing, as Sam reckons we shouldn't record too many covers.

You are 16. Your main focus should be for you to have fun and develop as a musician. Unfortunately at your age, good musicians are slim pickings. And gigging is tough also, although that will improve when you hit 21 and you and your friends can get into venues that serve alcohol. Bands do break up. But if you are friends, and have fun witht he situation, then don't ruin that. As you get older, drive, get some experience under your belt, and have a broader range of musicians to choose from, then you can look for someone who will fit best with you.

If you are in a high school band you might be able to pull through, though its cohesiveness will depend more on whether your mates want to go professional.

Half Japanese of course ! There's this documentary called Half Japanese-The Band That Would Be King , it's from 1991 I reckon though I'm not sure , I haven't googled the year. Nevertheless , it's pretty neat , you know when Half Japanese started none of the band members could play for their life anything ? Anyway , it's not like they can play pretty good now :D Jad Fair has this really weird way of playing the guitar (which most of the time is untuned) and yet the band managed create pretty cool melodies and songs

Only, that was the name of the band that I was in many years ago- (way back in my late teens, in fact!) We were, like I said before, a four-part-harmony vocal group, we covered all sorts of stuff from the Fifties right through to whatever was in the hit parade during the late Nineties: (Candy Pop, Rock, R 'n' B, Mainstream Pop, Mowtown, Country, Soul, some of the old-time Cockney classics, Rock 'n' Roll- you name it!), and we also done a few of our own tunes an' all. The band consisted of two girl mates of mine from college, the girl I was going out with at the time, and me- (Yup, I was the only bloke in the group!) Mates of mine, at the time, had very mixed views on our band name- (some of them loved it, and thought it was a really beautiful and romantic-sounding name for a band, and some hated it, and thought it was crap!) How to start recording music as a young teenager?
Hey well im 13 and Im really into music. I play guitar and get lessons and i reckon im getting pretty good at it. Im a pretty decent singer (nothing amazing) and average keyboard player. OK peeps not a lot ot go on here. I think the song is called Stomp and it was a very acousticy sort of piece - heavy on the drums, but not by the band called Stomp (the ones that bang about on dustbin lids and saucepans etc). I'm on my own. Just learning songs and stuff - im not in a band or anything.
I'm just starting out, so I have no clue. I can't afford to spend a lot of money. Do you reckon it'd be okay if I just bought a cheap one off ebay or should I buy it brand new? And what about other guitar gear that you need for an electric?

Hello there,
I would suggest you get a 1x12 combo amp. Most small practice amps are 10 to 25 watts with either a 6 or 8 inch speaker. The small speaker tends to make you sound thin and tinny. Those amps do not have enough power to handle gain and distortion well; they run out of head room. There is more to the power of an amp than just how loud it is. It takes more power to handle gain and distortion than most beginners realize. I have never heard a lousy speaker in a 1x12 by Fender, Marshall, Peavey, Crate, Vox or Line 6. Each sounds slightly different, but all are good brands.
Tube amps have a great sound. But there is significant care and maintenance involved with using a tube amp. Most beginners just want to flip the switch and start playing. Therefore solid state amps are a better choice for beginners. There are many good solid state amps that have a good tube simulation in their sound. Since you have not been playing tube amps for decades, you probably will not hear the difference.
A good amp for the beginner is the Fender Mustang II. It is a 40 watt 1x12 combo modeling amp. It is versatile. It has many built in effects so you will not need to buy effects pedals for those effects. Effects pedals are not cheap. You can quickly tie up several hundred dollars in effects pedals. So the built in effects in the Mustang II is a significant feature for beginners. New it costs $200.

I am a firm believer in buying used gear. Used gear normally sells for half the price of new. You can get more for your money. If you can find a used amp locally, that is best. You can hear it before you buy. However, I am not opposed to buying bargains off ebay. I have a couple excellent amps I bought used on ebay. I am a bargain shopper there. If a great amp that interests me is selling dirt cheap I will try to get it (dirt cheap). If I am planning to spend the normal price (for used amp) I would check Craigslist to see what is available. But there are bargains sometimes on ebay. I bought a Traynor 40 watt tube amp on ebay. It should have sold for $350 to $450. It was about to close with a bid of $70. I got it for $100. It is a great sounding amp. So bargains can be found on ebay if you watch.

They played an intentionally sloppy kind of rock that always sounded like they were having a lot of fun.
Sometimes they sound a little too "British" for my tastes, but that's just me
