school of rock is one of my favourite movies. (if you haven't seen it, you really should) and since about the start of the year i've been listening to more rock bands. like hey monday, paramore, fall out boy etc. i know i'm not the best at singing but i could give it some practice every day. i dream about how cool bands like paramore are, and what a good relationship they have with the band. i reckon learning to play drums or bass guitar would be really hard for me to start now. i can sing, but i need to improve and make my voice louder. i can write lyrics and poems and stuff aswell. when i am older (about 18/19) i think i'm going to start a band and see how we go. it's just an ambition i guess. has anybody else felt like this, and is anybody in a band? just thought i'd share my thoughts with everyone, no rude answers :D :DHave you ever really wanted to join/be in a band?
Yeah, I've been in three or four bands.
Most don't tend to work out, but some can stick.
My main one, we've been together for about 4 years now. We do a lot of Metallica, Trivium, and Green Day covers. And write heaps of stuff, too.
Look, personally, I reckon you'd be better off starting a band now. It's better to get used to it all when you're younger. Besides, when you're 18/19, you're not going to have all that much time. Sadly, people get jobs and lives.
And as for it being hard to start learning an instrument now? No way! The sooner the better. If it makes you happy, then there's no better thing for you to spend your time on. =)
Besides, it's a great outlet for just about every emotion.
How old are you, if you don't mind my asking?
I'm 17, by the way.
/// Hmm, well acoustic guitar can be pretty boring. How about electric? I taught myself, it's really easy. You just got to learn how to read tablature (heaps of sites should have tutorials) and then you learn whatever songs you want. =)
Music lessons are definitely a good idea. Good luck with it all!Have you ever really wanted to join/be in a band?
Well, you should stop listening to crappy music. That should help.Have you ever really wanted to join/be in a band?
I've been playing in bands for the last 31 years. You need to decide which role is best for you and then go for it.
A word of advice....slow does not necessarily mean boring, anymore than fast necessarily means good.
